APPLICATION
|
The steps of the application process are as follows:
- Read the By-Laws, Standard Operating Guidelines, and the suggested 24-Hour Ready
Pack list.
- Download the three-page Membership Application Form. Complete and sign pages 2
and 3 of the form; mail it with the non-refundable $10 application fee to PVSART, PO Box 595, Franconia NH 03580. Remember to sign both pages 2 and 3.
- Upon PVSART’s receipt of your signed application and fee, you will receive a letter
outlining the remainder of the process, which includes an interview with the Team Captain, a qualifying hike, and, finally, the Captain’s recommendation to the Board of Trustees. The Board meets periodically to act upon recommendations and to conduct other business.
- In the interim before the Board’s final action, you will hold “pending member” status,
and you are invited to attend meetings and most training sessions. Your email address will be added to the Team list, and you will receive electronic notices of upcoming sessions. You may also consult the annual schedule
5.Upon final approval by the Board, you will be asked to provide a suitable digital photo for the Team Photo ID Book used during call outs or to arrange to have PVSART take your picture. You will then be eligible to participate in search and rescue operations, and your contact information will be added to the dispatch roster. You will receive a PVSART membership card. Your $10 application fee will double as your annual dues for the year in which you enter.
