on Little Haystack; the younger was evacuated by helicopter and recovered from severe hypothermia.

pains while descending the Osseo Trail.

August 2. After riding up on the Tram, a 71 y.o. woman from FL and NH
injured her shoulder as she descended the Kinsman Ridge Trail towards Lonesome Lake. Several
Pemi members located her, assessed her injury, and then assisted her to walk out under her own
power.

August 14. Pemi was called out at approximately 4 p.m. because a 27 y.o.
male hiker from MA was feeling ill on the Falling Waters Trail near Shining Rock and his co-hiker had
cell-phoned for help. Fourteen Pemi members responded; one met the party two miles up the trail and
assisted the remainder of the walk-out. The ailing hiker sought treatment on his own at LRH.

hiking companions cell-phoned their GPS coordinates to rescuers and performed CPR on the victim.
The callout began at noon and ended around 8 p.m. Conditions: steep and precipitous terrain;
bushwhack; after dark finish; heavy rain (TS Hanna).

October 4. Two female hikers from MA, aged 30 and 35, went ahead of the other five hikers in their
party as they descended the Flume Slide and Liberty Springs Trails. They lost their way near bottom of

but high water and deep snow conditions forced him to ascend to the ridge again and retrace his
original path. Searchers found him walking about a mile from the summit of Mt. Washington and
brought him down on the motorized snow-cat. He went to the hospital in "fair condition."
